Job Description

Flyspace Productions is hiring a Staff Accountant who loves clean books, great events, and keeping things running behind the scenes. You’ll work closely with our Finance Director and event teams to manage invoicing, reconcile accounts, support financial reporting, and help make sure that the magic on stage is backed by solid numbers off stage.

About Flyspace Productions
Flyspace Productions is a woman-owned, full-service event management and production company based in Pittsburgh. Since 2006, we’ve been the team behind some of the region’s most iconic events like Picklesburgh, the Three Rivers Arts Festival, and so many more. Whether we’re transforming public plazas into immersive spectacles or delivering inspired AV at high-profile galas, our work helps cities and communities celebrate in unforgettable ways.

We are a collaborative, fast-paced, and creative team of producers, planners, technicians, and problem-solvers. We believe in doing excellent work with heart, hustle, and humor, and we’re always looking for others who feel the same.

About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our internal Finance team. In this role, you’ll manage the day-to-day accounts receivable and payable processes, ensure the integrity of our accounting records, support financial reporting, and play a vital part in helping us operate smoothly behind the scenes of some of the region’s most exciting events. Strong data and timely reporting will allow the company to operate at its best, and provide your team with the information they need to make decisions and fuel growth.

This position reports to the Director of Finance and works cross-functionally with our Event, Production and Operations teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Send accurate, timely client invoices (and follow up when needed)
  • Manage vendor bills and payables with attention to detail
  • Reconcile POs and vendor invoices like a pro
  • Keep our bank accounts squeaky clean with monthly reconciliations
  • Work with project teams to make sure invoices reflect reality
  • Prepare journal entries and support month-end closing
  • Help us understand project ROI and company-wide performance
  • Maintain records, organize tax filings, and keep things compliant
  • Help improve and document internal accounting processes
  • Support our Director of Finance with reporting, analysis, and more

What We’re Looking For

  • A passion for the Pittsburgh, culture, arts, music, or celebration and a desire to be part of building opportunities for connection within our community
  • 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance (bonus if it’s in a project-based or event-focused company)
  • Strong QuickBooks Online and Excel skills
  • A proven ability to learn fast, be resourceful and innovative, and detail oriented with a deadline-friendly attitude
  • Comfortable collaborating across departments and working collaboratively as a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred

What You'll Get
We believe in transparency and fairness when it comes to pay. All Full-Time roles are posted with a multi-level salary range to reflect career growth opportunities and internal equity. We also consider what you bring to the job with your previous experience, skills, and education.
Salary Range: $55,000–$65,000 annually (commensurate with experience and position level)

This range does not include the rest of our benefits, like healthcare starting on day one, retirement savings with company match, generous paid time off, and other world-class benefits. We’re proud to invest in our team and provide opportunities to thrive, not just work.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements
This role is primarily office-based at our Pittsburgh headquarters and regular work hours are Monday through Friday with flexibility to support month-end close and special events as needed. This position requires standard office functions including extended period of sitting, typing, phone or video meetings, and the ability to communicate in English. You may occasionally need to lift or move items up to 25 pounds, such as files or small equipment.

Accommodations & Accessibility
Flyspace is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace. We will do everything we can within reason to make sure that you are able to participate in the application process and that, if selected, your interview takes place in an environment that fairly and accurately assess your skills. If you need reasonable accommodation during any stage of the application or hiring process, please let us know. We're happy to explore how we can support your access and success.

Why You’ll Love It Here
We turn ideas into experiences and spreadsheets into clarity. If you love keeping things buttoned up while working alongside a fun, mission-driven team that makes magic happen in the real world, we’d love to meet you.

Apply now and let’s build something great together.

A Few Friendly Notes Before You Apply

What to Expect
We’ve done our best to outline the key responsibilities and expectations for this role, but like most things in our industry, the details can shift. This description should be seen as a general guide, which may be updated or modified from time to time, rather than a complete list. We’re a flexible team, and we hope you are too! We value adaptability and a collaborative spirit in our team.

Work Eligibility
In line with federal law, everyone we hire needs to be able to work in the U.S. and complete the standard employment verification paperwork when they join the team. This includes verification of your identity and eligibility to work for us.

Everyone’s Welcome
Flyspace is an equal opportunity employer. That means we don’t just welcome diversity, we celebrate it. We hire talented humans of all backgrounds and identities, and we’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. If you’re into respect, collaboration, and creativity, you’ll fit right in.

Let’s Talk Money
We believe in being upfront about pay. That’s why we include salary ranges or hourly pay expectations in all our postings, no guesswork required. While Pennsylvania doesn’t mandate this (yet), we think it’s the right thing to do. We also offer a great benefits package, starting on day one.

Need Accommodations?
Flyspace is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace and encourage people of all abilities to apply. We will do everything we can within reason to make sure that you are able to participate in the application process and that you are evaluated in an environment that best allows us to assess your skills. If you need reasonable accommodation during any stage of the application or hiring process, please let us know. We're happy to explore how we can support your access and success.
